Tickets On Sale Now For 2006
Watkins Glen International is set to host eight event weekends throughout 2006, highlighted by the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix move to June 4. The highly anticipated NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series SIRIUS Satellite Radio at The Glen will also return on their traditional weekend August 10-13 with the Zippo 200 NASCAR Busch Series.
Joining the IndyCar Series will be the traditional Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen bringing race fans two great race weekends in one!
The season begins with Toyota Opening Day on April 30, marking the advance sale deadline for all race weekend tickets. Fans can once again take on the twists and turns of the famed road course in their own vehicles, or take a ride in a pace car. Proceeds from this event to benefit charity.
The Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix returns to The Glen on its new date, June 2-4. The Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, featuring the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series, is scheduled for June 3, while the Menards Infiniti Pro Series and the IndyCar Series take to the historic long-course on June 4. The move to June will give Watkins Glen fans the first opportunity to see the newly-crowned 2006 Indy 500 champion!

The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series goes road racing again taking to the historic road course on Sunday August 13 in the much-anticipated SIRIUS Satellite Radio at The Glen. Be sure to keep an eye out for a few NASCAR Nextel Cup Series stars running in the NASCAR Busch Series Zippo 200, August 12. The action kicks off as the Grand American Rolex Series makes their second appearance at The Glen in the Crown Royal 200, August 11.
The Porsche Club of America returns to compete in the Porsche Clash, June 9-11 and The The Historic Sportscar Racing weekend will also return to The Glen in 2006, June17-18. The event will once again be open to the public and will feature some of the most historic sports cars.
The SCCA Glen Nationals, the longest-running event at The Glen, returns July 7-9, followed immediately by the Finger Lakes Wine Festival supported by The Corning Museum of Glass, July 15-16. The Festival will again kick off on Friday night, July 14, when Yancey's Fancy, New York's Artisan Cheese, presents the Launch of the Lakes celebration, where we'll once again, crown the King and Queen of the Festival!
2006 will mark the tenth season that The Glen has hosted The Finger Lakes Wine Festival supported by The Corning Museum of Glass. The event features over 70 different Finger Lakes wines from around the region and features arts & craft, food vendors, music and a Hot Glass show from The Corning Museum of Glass.
The 2006 season will wrap-up once again when the largest vintage motorsports event in America and the traditional season finally ' the Zippo U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, September 8-10 and is held in conjunction with the Grand Prix Festival in the Village of Watkins Glen. This event celebrates racing's history and continues to be the largest vintage racing event in the country featuring historic cars of the past from as far back as the 1930's.
