A weekend highlighted by the power of Porsche ranging from the popular 911 to 944 Turbo, rounds out with a second F2000 Championship Series race and a champagne celebration in Gatorade Victory Lane.
Saturday's F2000 Championship Series race was won by Matt McDonough of West Newbury, MA clocking his best time of the day on the 3.4 mile grand prix course of 1:54.464. McDonough beat second place finisher Mike Anderson of Greenpond, NJ by only .028 of a second.
Sunday's F2000 Championship Series race was just as exciting and won again by McDonough. Anderson and McDonough battled for first place and McDonough took the lead on the third to last lap for the final time to secure the win for a second day at The Glen.
The Porsche Clash weekend featured over 275 Porsche from around the country and finished on both Saturday and Sunday with the open-wheel racing action of the F2000 Championship Series. Corning, NY native and local business owner Craig Clawson, of Craig's Auto Sales was one of the entries in the F2000 Championship Series and finished in the middle of the pack at 12th place on Saturday. He finished XX in Sunday's race.
Next weekend, Watkins Glen International will welcome back the Historic Sports Car Racing Association on Saturday and Sunday for the Watkins Glen Historics.
