Schumacher's Benetton May Be The B.O.S.S.

Michael Schumacher's Benetton B194 F1 car will take on the twists and turns of The Glen and will highlight some of the various classes and makes this weekend. Now driven by Larry Conner, this car may be on the pole for this weekend's Big Open Single Seaters (B.O.S.S.) race at The Soul of American Road Racing during the Watkins Glen Historics. Other contenders to look out for include the international engine builder Ted Wenz, who will drive the 1996 Renyard Champ Car for the first time since retirement from the Champ Car Series or John Burke in a similar style car from 1997. Group 4, also known as the B.O.S.S. Series, consists of Formula One cars of 1970-1998 running on slick tires. The group will qualify on Saturday at 2:30 pm and take the green flag on Sunday at 4:00 pm. Another class to look out for is the vintage historic production cars in group 3 highlighted by Eric Lux, 2006 24 Hours of Daytona GT class co-champion in his Porsche 911 S or Elliot Forbes-Robinson, co-driving with John Schneider in his Porsche 914/6 GT. This weekend's variety of classes and makes feature pre-war sports cars, Can-Am's, Champ Cars, Indy cars, muscle cars, stock cars and more. The Rolex Classic GTR/Enduro is the featured race taking the green flag at 9:00 am on Sunday morning. Weekend adult tickets are only $20.00 and children 6 and over can get in for $5.00. Sunday admission is only $15.00 for adults. Children 5 and under are free and tickets and can be purchased at the gate all weekend.
