Weather Guarantees Sunday Fun

Helio Castroveves, of Marlboro Team Penske will lead the field to the green flag for tomorrow's Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix. The starting positions were set today based on the fastest lap times set in practice on Friday afternoon. Starting second will be fellow Brazilian Tony Kanaan, followed by his sensational rookie team mate, Marco Andretti. Last year's winner, Scott Dixon, sporting a one-off Energizer Bunny color scheme, will start next to Marco on the outside of row two. Although the drivers were anxious to get out on the track for qualifying, very inclement weather caused a delay in the action. Once the clouds lifted, there wasn't enough time to get in a full session of qualifying before the start of this afternoon¿s 25th Running of the Sahlen¿s Six Hours of the Glen Rolex Sports Car Series race. A short practice session was run in variable conditions, with Tomas Scheckter setting fast time ahead of Eddie Cheever Jr. The fast time of the session of 122.855 mph was well off the fastest Friday speed of 133.792 mph. The Target Chip Ganassi racers, Dixon and Dan Wheldon, were particularly disappointed, as they felt they had a great shot at starting the race up front. Get your tickets at 1-866-461-RACE to see their exciting charge to the front in tomorrow¿s 2nd Annual Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix.
