AAA Expands Sponsorship

Watkins Glen International announced today that AAA, the official auto club of the historic racetrack, will sponsor pole qualifying for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup series during the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Weekend at The Glen, August 10 - 13. "AAA Pole Day" takes place on Friday, August 11 when the stars of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series take on the twists and turns of The Glen for the first time this year. "AAA Pole Day is a fantastic event to be experienced by all race fans. It's a great example of the excitement AAA is bringing to The Glen through our expanded NASCAR involvement," said Thomas Chestnut, President and CEO of AAA Western and Central New York. The agreement between The Soul of American Road Racing and North America's largest motoring and leisure travel organization gives AAA members access to special discount ticket packages leading up to the race. AAA members can further enhance their visit to The Glen by taking advantage of the exclusive "AAA Finish Line Fan Zone" offer which is highlighted by a Q&A with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup star, and 3-time Watkins Glen International winner, Mark Martin, on Sunday, August 13. Anyone can buy a ticket to the AAA Finish Line Fan Zone but these special offers are available to AAA members only. Tickets can be purchased by calling 866-461-RACE. Don't miss 20 years of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series racing at The Glen this year August 10 -13. The Zippo 200 NASCAR Busch Series race returns for a second time with the cars and stars of the NEXTEL Cup Series on Saturday and the Crown Royal 200 Rolex Sports Car Series will take the green flag on Friday.
