Watkins Glen International announced today that Jim Kelly will be the Grand Marshal during this year's Crown Royal 200 Rolex Sports Car Series race on Friday, August 11th. This will be the second time that the series has competed at The Soul of American Road Racing this year and will mark the second time that Kelly has given the official command at Watkins Glen International. Kelly was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 2002 and was a former Buffalo Bills All-Pro quarterback that led the team to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances and is still regarded as being one of the premier quarterbacks of all-time. Kelly has not only contributed to his team on the field, but he also contributes to his community off the field. In 1987 the Kelly for Kids Foundation was formed to help fund and support children's charities throughout Western New York. In 1997 he founded Hunters Hope Foundation and it has become his lifelong commitment to increase public awareness of leukodystrophies as well as increase the likelihood of early detection. More information can be found at www.huntershope.com. The Crown Royal 200 is scheduled to take the green flag at 6:30 pm on August 11th. Crown Royal is the official spirit of Watkins Glen International. Tickets are still available for the AMD at The Glen weekend, August 10 -13.
