Hazlitt Vineyards and WGI Partner on Stage
Ragged Sole to Debut New Red Cat Summer Stage at The Glen on June 9th
Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards and Winery has signed a one-year agreement with Watkins Glen International to be the title sponsor of the new Red Cat Summer Stage at The Glen. The award-winning winery, home to popular 'Red Cat', joins Pleasant Valley Winery's Great Western Champagne as the two official wine partners at The Soul of American Road Racing.
"We are thrilled to have Hazlitt's on board as our stage partner during three of our major racing event weekends at The Glen this summer," stated Craig Rust, President of Watkins Glen International. "Fans that are familiar with Hazlitt's winery associate them with a fun party atmosphere, so they are a great partner for our post-race concert series at The Glen this summer."
The popular Seneca Lake winery will be the title sponsor of the stage located at Watkins Glen International where concerts will be held on Saturday following the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen race, both Friday and Saturday during the Watkins Glen Grand Prix weekend in July, and Saturday following the Zippo 200 race during the NASCAR at The Glen weekend August 10-12.
"We're really excited about the Red Cat Summer Stage at The Glen and it's presence at WGI this season," says Doug Hazlitt, Operations V.P. for Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards. "It's a great match for us, and we're proud to be a part of the racing tradition at the legendary road course. It's great to see Red Cat and our other outstanding wines available in a venue that gets attention and attendance from across the nation and around the world."
Rock band "Ragged Sole" will be the first band to hit the new Red Cat Summer Stage at The Glen following the checkered flag of the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen on Saturday, June 9. The concert is part of an exciting weekend that showcases ten races and five different racing series, including the featured Grand-Am Roles Sports Car Series and will highlight the After Hours Party at The Glen that weekend. Concerts featured in July and August will be announced at a later date.
The After Hours Party at The Glen will begin following the checkered flag on Saturday June 9th, in the Turn 10 Village at 5:30 PM. The party starts with a live DJ and then the high energy party band "RAGGED SOLE" will get the night rocking when they take to the Red Cat Summer Stage at The Glen at 7:00 PM. The successful cover band performs a wide variety of music from classic artists such as Aerosmith, Led Zepplin and Chuck Berry to some of today's top artists such as Barenaked Ladies, 3 Doors Down and Green Day. The concert promises to make for a fun and entertaining night for every race fan. Admission to the party is included with the cost of a weekend general admission ticket.
The action continues on Sunday, June 10 with the Skip Barber Racing Series, SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge, F2000 Championship Series and USERA Championship Series, each adding more excitement to an already thrilling event weekend. Tickets for Sunday only can be purchased for $10 or weekend tickets including admission to the After Hours Party at The Glen, are only $30.00.
