Buddy Rice Kicks Off New Series of Live Driver Chats
2004 Indy 500 Winner is First Featured IndyCar Series Driver
Watkins Glen International will resume the LIVE driver chats on the WGI Fan Talk Forum on Wednesday, June 20th and will welcome a winner of "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing". 2004 Indianapolis 500 champion Buddy Rice will be this week's featured guest and will be available for fans questions from 7:30 PM - 8:00 PM. This marks the return of the Live Driver Chats that were met with great success leading up to the 26th Running of the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen.
This is the first of two 30-minute live chats that will feature drivers from the IndyCar Series. Both live chats will feature a different driver from the IndyCar Series leading up to Watkins Glen Grand Prix, July 6-8.
Both of these live chats are open to any and all race fans that go to the WGI Fan Talk Forum or the WGI homepage (www.TheGlen.com). A link to the live chat will become available to all visitors at about 7:20 PM and will be active for the entire chat.
Buddy Rice began his career in the IndyCar Series in 2002 and quickly became one of the most consistent drivers in the Series. He won the 2004 Indianapolis 500 from the pole for his first career IndyCar Series victory and used that result to help finish a career best third in the overall season standings. Rice has competed in both Watkins Glen Grand Prix races; placing 19th in 2005 and 4th in 2006. This year he is driving the #15 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Honda Dallara during the Watkins Glen Grand Prix weekend, July 6-8.
The Watkins Glen Grand Prix will include entertainment both on and off the track including music, wine tasting, fireworks, kids' games, and a huge fireworks celebration of our nation's independence on both Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday, don't miss the viewing party following the on-track action for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway from the FrontStretch Grandstand.
Tickets for the race weekend Independence Day celebration during the Watkins Glen Grand Prix, or the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and Zippo 200 weekend August 9-12, are still available.
