Carbon Leaf Headlines Saturday Night Concert

Virginia-based modern rock band Carbon Leaf will take the stage on Saturday night during the World Watkins Glen Grand Prix weekend July 6-8. They will then follow-up their performance on Sunday when they sing the National Anthem prior to the 3rd Annual World Watkins Glen Grand Prix. At 5:00 PM, nearing the checkered flag of the Koni Challenge Series' Supercuts 200, Carbon Leaf will take the Red Cat Summer Stage, sponsored by Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards and Winery, during the Saturday Night After Hours Concert in the Turn 10 Village. The popular band has opened for several well-known acts including Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows and John Mayer. With their latest album Love, Loss, Hope, Repeat, released in September of 2006, Carbon Leaf defines itself "as a tight instrumental unit, capable of cranking up the heat even with scaled-down arrangements based on acoustic guitar, in perfect complement to a vocal sound that can't be mistaken for anyone else's." Their unique sound and musical experience will make for an exciting Saturday Night After Hours Concert for all race fans to enjoy. Hazlitt Vineyards, located on the beautiful Seneca Lake Wine Trail in Hector, NY, has been selling fine wines for more than 20 years and been growing high quality wine grapes for over 150 years! The popular Seneca Lake winery continues to be the title sponsor of the Red Cat Summer stage where concerts will be held both Friday and Saturday during the Camping World Watkins Glen Grand Prix weekend and Saturday following the Zippo 200 race during the NASCAR at The Glen weekend August 10-12. The weekend features the IndyCar Series' return to the legendary 3.4-mile road course on its new date, July 6-8. The Indy Pro Series, Historic Grand Prix and Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series will also take on the historic 3.4-mile long course during the weekend. The young drivers of the Indy Pro Series will challenge The Soul of American Road Racing not once, but twice during the event weekend with the first running of the Corning Twin 100's. A variety of 4th of July-themed fan activities will be offered at the track including a large fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. On Saturday, two separate autograph sessions will be held following the on-track action beginning at 4:00 PM featuring the IndyCar, IndyCar Legends and Indy Pro Series drivers. The track will also host a viewing party for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway from the FrontStretch Grandstand. The party will get started with a wine and cheese party in the FinishLine Hospitality from 5:30-7:30 PM hosted by GCP Discount Liquors and Wine, highlighting over 20 New York Finger Lakes wineries, live music by "Carbon Leaf" on the Red Cat Summer Stage and fireworks. All of these special activities are included with the cost of admission except for a FREE Friday Night Block Party that will be open to the general public Friday night from 5:30-9:30 PM. Tickets for the rest of the 2007 season are still on sale! This includes the second big spectator event of the season, the return of open-wheel racing during the Camping World Watkins Glen Grand Prix, July 6-8, and the much anticipated NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series at The Glen, August 9-12.
