Racing, Fireworks and ... Bull-Riding?
Fan Hospitality Will Feature Patriotic and Wild West Themes
While it may be the main focus, racing will not be the only entertainment for fans during the Watkins Glen Grand Prix and NASCAR Nextel Cup Series at The Glen weekends. The Soul of American Road Racing is known for lining up fun-filled themes for Fan Hospitality and this year is no different.
The fun begins when the IndyCar® Series returns to the legendary 3.4-mile road course for the Watkins Glen Grand Prix, July 6-8. The Glen will offer a variety of 4th of July themed fan activities throughout the weekend including the Patriotic themed Finish Line and Pit Terrace fan hospitality tents on Sunday, July 8th. Fans can expect the entertainment to include complete patriotic décor, old fashioned games, a driver Q & A, miniature golf, fireworks, patriotic tunes, lots of giveaways and more!
For only $50, after the purchase of an event ticket, you can enjoy this All-American entertainment along with a full BBQ cookout, snacks and a bar serving soda, water and beer. Tickets are limited and must be purchased by June 22nd so hurry to get yours TODAY by calling 866-461-Race or visiting www.TheGlen.com!
The fun continues August 11th and 12th as the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series turns left and right at The Glen during its traditional weekend. The NASCAR Busch Series challenges the famed 2.45-mile track in the Zippo 200, August 11th. Fans need to strap on their ten-gallon, hop into the saddle and mosey over to Pit Terrace Hospitality for this exciting weekend. Entertainment for the weekend contains full Wild West themed décor, giveaways, blackjack, video games, country tunes, and a mechanical bull! Cheer and laugh as riders desperately try to keep their balance and attempt to conquer our bull "Thunder Road" as it bucks and spins.
The Wild West not your thing? Then order your tickets for the AAA Finish Line Fan Zone and get all of the benefits of fan hospitality without the country feel. Fans in the AAA Finish Line Fan Zone will be treated to the same full buffet, snacks and drinks as the fans in the Wild West themed Pit Terrace Hospitality tent but will also receive a Q & A with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver David Ragan on Sunday, August 12.
Admission to fan hospitality for the entire weekend is ONLY $75 and Sunday only access is available for $50. Fans can expect to enjoy a full buffet, snacks and bar in Wild West surroundings. Tickets are also limited for this event and must be purchased by July 7th. So put on your best 'bib and tucker' to join us for a 'hootin' good time!
The Watkins Glen Grand Prix weekend will include entertainment both on and off the track featuring the IndyCar Series on Sunday, the Penn Grade 1® Historic Grand Prix and Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series race on Saturday, and Twin Corning 100's on both Saturday and Sunday. The weekend will also include live music, a wine tasting, kid's games, and fireworks in honor of our nation's Independence and new race weekend date. On Saturday, the Pepsi 400 viewing party will be held in the FrontStretch Grandstand live from sister track, Daytona International Speedway.
Tickets for the race weekend Independence Day celebration, during the Watkins Glen Grand Prix; or the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and Zippo 200 weekend August 9-12, are still available. For tickets and additional race weekend information, please contact the Watkins Glen International ticket office at 866-461-RACE, log on TheGlen.com, buy online at www.racetickets.com or stop by The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in downtown Watkins Glen.
