Stacy's Pita Chip Company was founded in 1997 by a social worker and a psychologist with a passion for good food and a commitment to healthy living. With a desire for a career in the food industry, but without the capital to open a restaurant, Stacy Madison and Mark Andrus designed a food cart and began serving healthy pita bread roll-up sandwiches in Boston's Financial District. They were an instant hit, and the lines grew longer each day. As an incentive for customers to wait in line, they baked the leftover pita bread to create different flavored chips. Customers loved them, and they encouraged Stacy and Mark to get the chips into stores. They listened, and Stacy's Pita Chip Company was born.
"We are thrilled to work with a product such as Stacy's Pita Chips. The Festival promotes New York Wines, and Stacy's Chips are the perfect complement - gourmet chips with a flavor to match everyone's taste. They fit the Festival's theme of promoting quality culinary products alongside New York State wines very well"
Located in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country, the Festival, takes place July 20-22, 2007, and promotes New York wines and agricultural products, the top industries of the region. Eighty wineries are slated to attend, in addition to a variety of vendors from throughout the country—representing artisans, jewelers, culinary products, displays and wine accessories.
