Three Drivers Confirmed to Take Part in Live Chats on July 18, July 25 and August 1
Watkins Glen International will resume the LIVE driver chats on the WGI Fan Talk Forum on Wednesday, July 18th and will get things started with a Glen champion and true fan favorite. 2006 Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen champion and current NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Boris Said will be the first featured guest and will be available for fans questions from 7:30 PM - 8:00 PM. This marks the third series of live driver chats that have been held on the WGI Fan Talk Forum.
This is the first of four 30-minute live chats that will feature drivers from the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, NASCAR Busch and Grand-Am Roles Sports Car Series leading up to the Centurion Boats at The Glen weekend, August 9-12. The first chat will feature Boris Said on July 18th, the second chat will feature Grand-Am Rolex Series and future Roush Racing driver Colin Braun on July 25th, the third chat will feature NASCAR Busch Series driver Marcos Ambrose on August 1st and the final chat will feature another driver from the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup or NASCAR Busch Series on August 8th.
All of these live chats are open to any and all race fans that go to the WGI Fan Talk Forum or the WGI homepage (www.TheGlen.com). A link to the live chat will become available to all visitors at about 7:20 PM and will be active for the entire chat.
Boris Said's popularity at The Glen is well documented. His fan club, the famed "Said Heads" originated at The Soul of American Road Racing. Members are easily distinguishable by the large wigs they wear to pay tribute to the hair do of their favorite driver. Said has met with a great deal of success at The Glen in several series including the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, NASCAR Busch and Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. His record at The Glen is made up of numerous Top-10 finishes including his victory in the 2006 Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. He pulled triple duty during last year's Centurion Boats at The Glen weekend and this year fans should expect him to compete in at least the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Centurion Boats at The Glen and NASCAR Busch Series Zippo 200 during the event weekend, August 9-12.
One of New York State's largest weekend spectator sporting event returns August 9-12 with the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series taking center stage on Sunday in the much-anticipated Centurion Boats at The Glen. The NASCAR Busch Series is back for a third straight year to compete in the Zippo 200 on Saturday and the stars of the Rolex Sports Car Series take to the track on Friday night. Weekend tickets start at only $80 and are still available. A complete weekend schedule can be found on www.TheGlen.com.
