Glen Record Holder Castroneves Impresses Judges

Three-Time Glen Pole Winner Cha Cha’s His Way to Night’s Second Best Score

During his three visits to The Glen, IndyCar Series star Helio Castroneves has demonstrated that he has the skills to successfully challenge the rhythmic turns of the historic road course.  His ability to feel the “rhythm” has obviously carried over to the dance floor on the hit show “Dancing with the Stars.”  Castroneves and dancing partner Julianne Hough earned an impressive score of 28, out of a possible 30, for their energetic rendition of the Cha Cha on Monday night.  The couple will find out if they will move on to the next round during tonight’s results show at 9:00 P.M. on ABC.

Castroneves is recognized as one of the top drivers in the IndyCar Series and in just three years has left his mark on The Glen.  He has won the pole every year since the IndyCar Series brought major open-wheel racing back to The Soul of American Road Racing in 2005; setting new qualifying records in both 2005 and 2007. Castroneves’ fast qualifying times have not yet lead him to Gatorade Victory Lane at the legendary road course but fans can see him go for his first victory at The Glen during the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, July 4-6, 2008.

Time is running out for fans to renew their tickets for the exciting 2008 racing season at The Glen.  Fans have until November 5th to reserve their seats and campsites before they go on sale to the general public on December 1.  Renewal customers are reminded that they can choose to pay half now and half on February 1st with the 50/50 Payment Plan and take advantage of our new personalized relocation option.  For more information, please contact the Watkins Glen International ticket office at 866-461-RACE or log on to the official website at
