NASCAR Reserved Camping Sold Out

All good things must come to an end! Camping sites during the Centurion Boats at The Glen and Zippo 200 race weekend continues to be a hot ticket at Watkins Glen International. The Soul of American Road Racing is proud to announce that reserved camping sites during the August 7 -10, NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series weekend are already SOLD OUT! The final reserved spot was sold in mid-February topping last year's pace of March 2007, once again setting the mark for the earliest date these popular locations have been sold out at The Glen in ten years. General (non-reserved) camping passes during the race weekend are still available, but going fast! "We feel that we have one of the best camping experiences on the NASCAR circuit," stated Craig Rust, president of Watkins Glen International. "Our fans have always enjoyed camping here and families traditionally plan their vacations and reserve their camping sites early." Occupying close to 2000 acres of land, the historic road course offers a variety of weekend camping opportunities during the races including the annual NASCAR weekend in August and the IndyCar Series over the 4th of July weekend. Reserved trackside camping can be enjoyed from both the infield and the outside of the track, which has historically sold out first followed by non-trackside campsites and then general camping areas. Glen fans interested in general camping, where the early bird gets the worm - or - the best location when they arrive race week, should call now to ensure a camping space for the Centurion Boats at The Glen weekend. General camping during the NASCAR weekend can be enjoyed along the "Boot" through Gate 7 as well as outside the backstretch by Gate 1. General camping during the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen weekend is also available in the infield. General camping passes are still only $65 for the NASCAR weekend if purchased before Opening Day, April 27th. Reserved camping spots during the RV sponsored event weekend known as The Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen are still available but going fast. This year the cars-and-stars of the IndyCar Series take to the track during the 4th of July weekend for the 4th annual event. In addition to seeing the biggest stars in American open-wheel racing, fans that come to The Glen will be treated to exciting racing action that will feature the Corning Duels Firestone Indy Lights Series, formerly Indy Pro Series, races, Grand Am KONI Challenge Series, and the Penn Grade 1 Historic Grand Prix. Fans looking for more to do than just watching racing will not be disappointed with free concerts on the Red Cat Summer Stage, the free Friday Night Block Party, the July NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at Daytona on the FrontStretch Jumbotron, driver autograph sessions, a wine and cheese party, and two large fireworks shows; including one of the biggest in Western New York on Friday, July 4. Tickets for the racing action at Watkins Glen International are on-sale now! This year the season kicks-off with the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, June 6-7 paired with the NASCAR Camping World Series' East Division on Sunday, June 8. Kids 12 and under are Free during the June 6-7 and July 4-6 event weekends when accompanied by an adult. Open-wheel racing returns for the 4th of July weekend during the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, July 4-6, and the Centurion Boats at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup and Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend highlights the summer action, August 7-10.
