Antonio Perez, driver of the #12 Chivas Racing/GPOS Footprints Dodge secured the pole position for the NASCAR Camping World Series 125 at The Glen on Sunday, June 8. The Mexico City native is competing part-time in his second season of racing within the series.
Perez not only edged out fellow competitor, Matt Kobyluck, but he was also able to break the track qualifying record. Perez posted a fast lap of 1:14.223, and was tailed by Kobyluck who posted a lap of 1:14.470. The old record for the series was 1:14.363 posted in 2002 by Dale Quarterley.
Max Dumarey qualified third with a lap of 1:14.711. Steve Park closely followed by posting a lap of 1:14.850. Nick DeBruijn rounded out the top five with a lap of 1:15.374.
All drivers of the NASCAR Camping World Series will be hitting the track at 12:30 PM. The race will also be preceded by the SCCA TC Race at 8:35 AM and the SCCA GT Race at 10:50 AM.
