The chats have featured some of the most popular names from the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car, NASCAR Camping World East, and IndyCar® Series including Tony Kanaan, Buddy Rice, Boris Said, Scott Pruett, and Ricky Carmichael. Michael McDowell will be challenging the twists and turns of The Glen in a stock car for the first time during the Centurion Boats at The Glen weekend, but it is not his first visit to the historic road course. McDowell first came to The Glen as a driver in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series and met with great success in the famed Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen; claiming 4th place in 2005 and 6th place in 2006. McDowell received a great deal of attention earlier season following a spectacular wreck during qualifying at Texas Motor Speedway. In just his second start on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the rookie lost control of his Toyota Camry entering Turn 2 and hit the wall at an incredible 180 mph causing him to flip eight times down the backstretch. Amazingly, McDowell was relatively uninjured and competed in the Cup race just two days later. McDowell will compete twice at The Glen this coming weekend, in the Zippo 200 on Saturday, August 9 and in the Centurion Boats at The Glen on Sunday, August 10. Tickets for the historic 60th Anniversary of racing in Watkins Glen are on-sale now! The action continues at Watkins Glen International, August 7-10, when the stars and cars of NASCAR take to the track. The Centurion Boats at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will be on Sunday, August 10 at 2:00 PM, and Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series event will be on Saturday, August 9 at 3:00 PM. Both races will broadcast live on TV. Don't miss the return of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series during Friday night's Crown Royal 200 at The Glen starting after Sprint Cup qualifying at 6:00 PM. Tickets are going fast! For more information and ticket orders, please contact the Watkins Glen International ticket office at 866-461-RACE or log on to the official website at www.TheGlen.com.
