Steve Park has met with great success in his years of competing at The Glen. The veteran driver has five Top-10 finishes in 11 all-time starts at his home state track but the highlight is undoubtedly his win in the 2000 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen race. Park edged out Mark Martin by 0.384 seconds, which is still the smallest margin of victory for any NASCAR Sprint Cup race ever held at The Glen, and in the process claimed his first of two career victories in NASCAR’s top series. He is coming off a fifth place finish in last year’s race and should be one of the favorites in the Tioga Downs Casino 125 at The Glen on Saturday, June 6th.
Matt Kobyluck’s impressive career in the NASCAR Camping World Series East reaches back to 1998. During his time in the series, Kobyluck has amassed eight wins, 35 Top-5, and 56 Top-10 finishes with four of those Top-10 finishes coming at The Glen. This includes his first career victory at WGI in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Series East 125 at The Glen. If history is any indication, Kobyluck will be in the mix from the start in 2009 as the defending champion has not qualified any lower than 11th in his last six NASCAR Camping World Series East appearances at The Glen.
