By: WGI Staff on 7/29/2009
The Red Cat Summer Stage will be rocking on Saturday, August 8.
In addition to performing Saturday night, both TelluRide and Linville will perform the National Anthem leading up to the racing action at The Glen. Linville will perform the Canadian and American Anthems just before the Zippo 200 on Saturday afternoon. Then, minutes before the green flag falls for the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen, TelluRide will perform the anthems for the crowd around the 2.45-mile road course.
TelluRide debuted in 2006 as a four-man band with a new kind of country music. Their unique brand of country music is known by fans for its infectious harmonies, catchy lyrics and driving grooves. In 2008, the band was named “The Group to Watch” by the Country Music Association partially because of their rising popularity among country fans. In just a few short years, the group has performed in hundreds of concerts across the country and sang the national anthem at Major League Baseball games and NASCAR events. TelluRide was even asked to write and perform a song for Riley Children’s Foundation to use in their fundraising campaign for the Indianapolis, IN based charity.
Megan Linville grew up just north of Nashville, TN, in a family that had been a part of the music industry for generations. She began performing by the age of 7 when she sang in talent shows, vocal competitions and performed at weddings. By 2007 she recorded her first album, which included five songs that she co-wrote. In addition to being a great singer, Linville is also involved in charity work and is instrumental in throwing an Annual Cystic Fibrosis Pickin’ Party. Linville has an impressive resume with countless concerts and performances at Indy 500 Qualifying and games for the Atlanta Braves.
