American Olympic athletes that claim gold at the 2010 Winter Games can receive two passes to the Crown Royal Club at The Glen during the 2010 season.
Watkins Glen International is proud to announce that any U.S. athlete that claims a gold medal during the 2010 Olympics currently being held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada will be eligible to receive two passes to the exclusive Crown Royal Club at The Glen and will be honored during pre-race ceremonies. Winning a gold medal at the Olympic Games means an athlete is at the top of their respective sport so it only makes sense that they be rewarded with VIP access to the premier road racing facility in North America. The passes will be good for either the Camping World Grand Prix IZOD IndyCar Series, July 2-4, or the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, August 5-8, event weekends.
“Our U.S. Olympians dedicate their lives to represent the United States on the largest international stage in sports and this is the least we can do to show our gratitude,” said Michael Printup, president of Watkins Glen International. “We hope these exceptional athletes take us up on our offer because they deserve to enjoy some of the finest racing in the world in true Crown Royal style and be honored in front of the best fans in all of motorsports.”
The Crown Royal Club at The Glen is the highest-level VIP experience anyone can enjoy at The Glen. The two passes will allow the gold medal-winning American Olympians to bring a guest to enjoy the view from the top of the famed “Esses” at the historic road course. Their Crown Royal Club experience will include complimentary food and beverage, a climate-controlled building, TV monitors to watch all of the action throughout the track, and trackside seating with Sprint Vision view. The honoring of the athletes in attendance will take place during the pre-race ceremonies prior to driver introductions, the singing of the national anthem, fly-over, and command to start engines. Any U.S. Olympian that wins gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics can claim their passes by calling Watkins Glen International directly at (607)535-2486.
