The new RIEDEL Ticket Package will provide the upscale VIP experience many tasters desire at this year's Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey's Fancy New York's Artisan Cheese.
Held annually at Watkins Glen International, festival organizers, RIEDEL – The Wine Glass Company, Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association along with many participating wineries, have joined together to bring a new upscale VIP experience to the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, July 16-18. Participants will receive a VIP passport to enjoy a variety of exclusive experiences including a private tasting with winemakers and an exclusive sensory exploration class with Georg Josef Riedel, 10th generation of the Riedel family. This announcement was made today in New York City during a media luncheon hosted by the Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association.
“Being a wine drinker myself, I am very excited to bring this experience to wine connoisseurs that attend the festival,” stated Michael Printup, president of Watkins Glen International. “RIEDEL’s involvement will add a new level of sophistication to the popular wine festival weekend enhancing the experiences of our more serious wine drinkers. This new VIP area will also grant tasters exclusive access with the vintners to gain a better understanding of the great wines of this region.”
“The Finger Lakes Wine Festival is the largest showcase of Finger Lakes wines in the world. Thousands of visitors from all over the United States attend and we are thrilled to now offer an intimate tasting experience at the festival,” said Morgen McLaughlin, president of Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism and Marketing Association. “It is especially exciting for the region and festival to have a partner like Riedel that is synonymous with wine and quality stemware.”
The RIEDEL Experience will be available to the first 150 participants and will be held on the second floor of the track’s media center in a room that overlooks both the track and Gatorade Victory Lane. Participants will be able to take home several RIEDEL wine glasses including the Riesling white wine glass that was launched in 2009 and made exclusively for New York’s Finger Lakes varietals.
