By: WGI Staff on 5/28/2010
Fans attending this year’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen event weekend, June 4-6, will have easy access to their favorite teams and drivers, and to make it even better, all of the activities are included with the price of any admission ticket! Fans will be granted access to the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge garage area, GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series paddock, and be treated to two separate Fan Walks on Pit Road. Adult tickets for the event weekend are only $35 and kids 15 and under are FREE!
The GRAND-AM Fan Walks provide every fan in attendance the chance to get an up-close and personal look at the cars and stars of the Continental Tire and the Rolex Sports Car Series just minutes before the green flag. The Continental Tire Series Fan Walk will be open to any fan with a weekend ticket on Saturday, June 5th from 9:20 PM to 9:45 PM and includes a pit stop demonstration by local race team JBS Motorsports at 9:40 AM. Pit road will continue to be a busy place, as pre-race activities for the Continental Tire 150 at The Glen begin immediately following the Fan Walk access period. Later that same day, the Rolex Series fan walk will run 1:10 PM – 1:40 PM and provide fans the opportunity to watch another pit stop demonstration featuring the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Daytona Prototype at 1:30 PM. The green flag will then fall on the 29th Running of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at 2:00 PM.
Getting access to pit road only minutes before the start of the Continental Tire 150 and the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen not enough? No problem! Fans with weekend tickets will also have access to the garage and both paddock areas. This access will provide the chance to watch the crews of Rolex Series and Continental Tire Challenge make the adjustments necessary to help get their cars into Gatorade Victory Lane. The paddock for the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge will also be open allowing fans to get a first-hand look at all three series racing during the weekend. The fact that all grandstands, both tailgate zones, and general admission viewing areas are also open to any ticket holder means fans really have an all access pass to fully enjoy the sports car weekend.
