Celebrate Our Nation with a Patriotic Pre-Race at the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen
Elk Creek Skydivers and Prime Time Brass will Provide Entertainment during Pre-Race Ceremony
By: WGI Staff on 6/29/2010
Prime Time Brass will once again perform our national anthem only minutes before the green flag falls on the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen.
The pre-race ceremony for the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen will be a patriotic affair to pay tribute to our Nation’s independence with the help of several military branches. Whether you are looking for entertainment, thrills or just patriotism, the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen Pre-Race Ceremony will have it.
For fans that like big thrills, the ceremony will feature a jump by the Elk Creek Skydivers. The Elk Creek Skydivers is a three-man jump team that will be making their third appearance at WGI for the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen. This year, the group’s jump will feature a checkered flag and smoke machines. Look for the Elk Creek Skydivers to land in Turn 1 during the pre-race ceremony.
Performing the national anthems will be Prime Time Brass, a 15-member band consisting of brass players and drummers. The Prime Time Brass consists of some of the best players from Western New York and Canada. Since many of the players’ backgrounds included drum and bugle corps, the group has competed in the DCA World Championship for brass ensembles and won the competition’s highest honor on two occasions.
Color guard for the 6th Annual Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen weekend, July 2-4, will be provided by the Niagara Falls Air Force Honor Guard, who will present our Nation’s colors for both the Corning 100 and Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen once again this season. They will be joined on the FrontStretch by an American flag that is over 50 feet in length!
