The Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, July 16-18 at Watkins Glen International is NEARLY two weeks away. Festival organizers announced today that the Brewers’ Garden has expanded by 100% from 2009 to 2010.  The Brewer’s Garden will also relocate to a larger area within the festival grounds, commonly known as Turn 11, near the food court along the racetrack.

The Brewers’ Garden will host fifteen popular local, regional and national brewing companies that are expected to pour over (40) different brews during the second stint of the popular crowd pleaser, during the Finger Lakes Wine Festival held at the racetrack. The fifteen breweries include: Anchor Steam, Brewery Ommegang, Brooklyn Brewery, Dundee brewing, Kona Brewing Company, Lake Placid Craft Brewing, Longtrail Brewery, Magic Hat, Michelob Brewing Company, Newcastle, Roosterfish Brewery, Saranac Brewing Company., Sierra Nevada, Southern Tier Brewing Company and Woodchuck Cider. The long list of breweries that will be in attendance will provide tasters the chance to not only sample the local wine, but quality micro-brews as well.

Once a year, Watkins Glen International transforms from The Soul of American Road Racing into the Finger Lake’s largest tasting room, where over 600 New York wines will be sampled. The celebration kicks-off Friday evening at 6:00 pm, July 17th, with fireworks, wine, and togas at “Yancey’s Fancy Cheese Launch of the Lakes.”  Saturday and Sunday the Festival will open at 10:00 am until 5:00 pm, featuring a variety of wine and food and arts and crafts from across the state, culinary classes, cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, the Brewers’ Garden, pace car rides, and live musical entertainment. On Saturday, serious wine tasters can enjoy an upscale atmosphere at the RIEDEL Experience, which includes a VIP passport to the weekend’s activities, call 866-461-7223 to learn more.
