5th Annual Road to the Rescue Returns to The Glen on Septemeber 14
All Potential Blood Donors to Receive Gifts including Thunder Road Tour

Fans will have a chance to give back during the 5th Annual 'Road to the Rescue' on Tuesday, September 14.
With the upcoming nine year anniversary of September 11th just over three weeks away, Watkins Glen International and the Sullivan Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross, have renewed their partnership to support the spirit of charitable giving surrounding the anniversary of this national tragedy. The 2010 ‘Road to the Rescue’ will take place on Tuesday, September 14 at Watkins Glen International.
The Road to The Rescue blood drive will take place at WGI, from 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm, at the track’s Media Center. Free Sahlen’s Hot Dogs, potato chips, and assorted cookies provided by Americrown Service Corporation and a gift that includes a voucher for a Thunder Road Tour and t-shirt will be given to all potential donors. Thunder Road Tours retail for $25.00 and provide fans the opportunity to drive their own vehicle around the 3.4 mile road course at Watkins Glen International for three paced laps. The free voucher can be redeemed starting at 5:00 PM on September 14 or at a later date.
Interested donors are strongly encouraged to pre-register by calling the Red Cross at (607)734-3317 during the day or 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) during the evenings.
The Road to the Rescue blood drive is supported by numerous tracks across the United States that host NASCAR events. This includes The Glen’s International Speedway Corporation (ISC) sister tracks Daytona International Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Martinsville Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Phoenix International Raceway, and Talladega Super Speedway.
Tickets for the 2010 season finale at Watkins Glen International, the Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver-McGuire, September 10-12, are on sale now. The event continues to be one of the largest vintage events in the United States and will feature Alfa Romeo as the featured marque with Elliott Forbes-Robinson as the special guest and grand marshal. Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Watkins Glen International ticket office at 866-461-RACE (7223) or logging on to the official website, www.TheGlen.com. Tickets, gift certificates and track merchandise can all be purchased at The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in downtown Watkins Glen. The Shop is open Monday-Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 9-4.
