Yancey's Fancy will continue as the presenting sponsor for the Finger Lakes Wine Festival for another three years.
Watkins Glen International and Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese have renewed their partnership that includes keeping the esteemed cheese maker the presenting sponsor of the Finger Lakes Wine Festival for the next three years. The Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese remains the premier event for New York wine tasting and will feature more than 90 wineries, July 15-17, 2011.
“Yancey’s Fancy has been essential in growing the Finger Lakes Wine Festival over the last five years and we are thrilled that they are returning for another three,” said Michael Printup, president of Watkins Glen International. “The festival features the finest wines and foods from New York State so it’s the perfect platform for Yancey’s Fancy to expose our tasters to their great line of cheeses. I highly recommend my personal favorite, the buffalo wing cheddar!”
The cheese producer became involved with the festival in 2005 as the title sponsor of the Launch of the Lakes kick off party and recently signed a contract that expends their involvement as the presenting sponsor of the weekend long event until 2010.
Based in Corfu, NY, Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese produces award-winning, hand-crafted cheddar and specialty flavored cheeses, and is the largest Fresh Cheese Curd manufacturer on the East Coast. Their product is available for purchase at supermarket retail locations in the deli or specialty cheese section.
Once a year, Watkins Glen International transforms from The Soul of American Road Racing into the Finger Lake’s largest tasting room, where over 600 New York wines will be sampled. The celebration kicks-off on the evening of Friday, July 15th, with fireworks, wine, and togas at “Yancey’s Fancy Cheese Launch of the Lakes.” Saturday and Sunday the Festival will feature a variety of wine and food and arts and crafts from across the state, culinary classes, cooking demonstrations, wine seminars, The RIEDEL Experience, the Brewers’ Garden, pace car rides, live musical entertainment and much more. The festival will once again offer reserved camping areas and plenty of free parking.
