The Action at The Glen is Heating Up, On and Off the Track

Fun and Excitement will Keep Coming on Saturday and Sunday

No 1 TelMex

The No. 01 TelMex Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates BMW/Riley of Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas takes to the track Friday morning.

There is a great variety of action at The Glen today which can now be viewed from The Glen’s new grandstands in Turns 10 and 11.  In preparation for the 30th running of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototypes and GT cars are practicing and qualifying this afternoon. Also on track today are open-wheeled F1600 and F2000 racers, as well as the two GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge classes. The green flag waves for the Continental Tire Challenge 150 at The Glen at 6:10 p.m.

Fans will also be able to get close to the cars and stars of the GRAND-AM series at the Rolex Series Autograph session and at the Continental Tire Fan Walk on Pit Road. Scheduled to appear at the autograph session from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. are Scott Pruett, Patrick Dempsey, Alex Gurney, David Donohue and the rest of the Rolex Series. The Continental Tire Fan Walk provides everyone in attendance with the opportunity to get an up-close and personal look at the cars and stars on pit road moments before they take the green flag. The Fan Walk for the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge is open to any weekend ticketholder today from 5:05 p.m. to 5:40 p.m.  The green flag for the Continental Tire 150 at The Glen will drop later that evening at 6:10 p.m. Fans will also have access to Gatorade Victory Lane for pre- and post-race ceremonies!

The fun continues on Saturday, June 4, with plenty of action both on and off the track.  The Rolex Series will hit the track for their final practice before the green flag falls on the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at 1:15 p.m.  Once again fans are invited to catch all the excitement of pre-race and victory lane ceremonies by heading to Gatorade Victory Lane behind the media center.  Not enough? The 5th Annual Sahlen’s Hot Dog Eating contest will provide entertainment for the whole family.  The popular event will once again be held at the Budweiser Tiki Hut and starts at 5:00 p.m.  The night will really get rocking just after the checkered flag when Mike Brindisi and the New York Rock take to the Red Cat Summer Stage by the Tiki Hut at 7:30 p.m.

Both autograph sessions, the fan walks, hot dog eating contest, Saturday night concert, and access to the paddock and garage area are all included in the price of admission making the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend one of the best values of the season.
