Zippo and West Coast Customs® Will Also Unveil Custom-Designed Zippo Vehicle
The production of the new Zippo custom vehicle will be the focus of an upcoming episode of “Inside West Coast Customs” which will air this fall when “Inside West Coast Customs” makes its debut on Discovery’s soon to be launched Velocity Network.
WATKINS GLEN, NY – Watkins Glen International and Zippo Manufacturing Company, maker of the world-famous windproof pocket lighter, are proud to announce that West Coast Customs® CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus will serve at the Grand Marshal for the Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, August 13. Friedlinghaus will not only say the most famous words in racing – “Gentleman, start your engines!” – but will also unveil a brand new, custom-designed Zippo vehicle. The green flag will drop on the Zippo 200 at 2:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
“Zippo has been an incredible partner for 18 years and always finds new ways to enhance the fan experience at The Glen,” said Michael Printup, president, Watkins Glen International. “We are thrilled Zippo decided to unveil their custom-made vehicle during our NASCAR weekend and look forward to showing Ryan the pulse-pounding racing action that we have in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York. I know that I cannot wait to see the masterpiece that the guys from West Coast Customs have built.”

Fans will have several chances to see the custom-designed Zippo vehicle throughout the day. The unveiling itself will take place at approximately 11:00 a.m. and be broadcast live on the Sprint Vision Screens around the legendary road course. Following the unveiling, the vehicle will head to the Zippo Hot Spot display on Manufacture’s Row before hitting the track for Friedlinghaus to lead the Zippo 200 field during the first warm up lap of the race.
