Zippo Rock Pit Stop Hits Water Street Music Hall on Friday, August 5
Watkins Glen, NY – Rock & Roll and NASCAR will roar into Central New York during the first two weeks of August beginning with The Zippo Rock Pit Stop at Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, NY on Friday, August 5. This special event offers fans of both music and motorsports a peek into what happens off track during NASCAR’s annual visit to legendary Watkins Glen International. The Zippo Rock Pit Stop will get the night rocking less than one week before the green flag falls on the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen weekend, August 11-14. Not only is this a great opportunity to experience the soundtrack to NASCAR, it is also a great chance to meet some of the staff of The Glen while registering to win NASCAR tickets, driver autographed merchandise, free band merchandise and even a large piece of Daytona International Speedway’s past!
The Zippo Rock Pit Stop, hosted by Watkins Glen International and sponsored by Zippo Manufacturing, will highlight three different bands with three distinct styles. The power rock band Mike Brindisi & The New York Rock will kick the show off. This Ithaca, NY based act is no stranger to The Glen having pumped up a crown as the opening act for Gavin DeGraw at WGI in 2008. The sounds might change but energy will remain high with The Eric Tessmer Band hitting the Water Street stage with their lead guitar heavy Texas Blues. Rochester Led Zeppelin tribute band The Song Remains the Same will wrap up the evening.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, so get there early.
