Second Year Program Offers a Unique Experience
Fans interested in joining the WGI team as part of the Fan Ambassador program must fill out an application and participate in an interview process.
WATKINS GLEN, NY – Watkins Glen International is once again in search of passionate and dedicated fans who are interested in becoming a part of the WGI extended family as Fan Ambassadors. Launched in 2011, the program provides fans with the unique opportunity to show their support of the legendary road course. Those interested have the chance to obtain a behind-the-scenes look at all of the events held at The Glen during the 2012 season while sharing their enthusiasm with fellow fans throughout event weekends.
Fan Ambassadors will have the opportunity to join the WGI staff in a variety of roles and handle a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to: escorting corporate partners and VIP guests on garage and pit tours, greet guests and provide assistance in The Glen Club as well as other hospitality areas, assist pace car ride participants, assist pre- and post-race ceremonies in Gatorade Victory Lane as well as much more!
This is the best opportunity for fans to become part of the fun and excitement during every event weekend at Watkins Glen International without being in the stands. Ambassador’s will also have a chance to enjoy a variety of exclusive incentives including, but not limited to, weekend admission to all WGI events, receiving track press releases thus being some of the first people notified of the happenings at The Glen, event polo’s, appreciation parties, and special event access such as cold pit passes.
Fan Ambassadors are needed, although not required, at the three largest 2012 events at Watkins Glen International, including: Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, June 29-July 1; Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, July 13-15 and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen, August 9-12.
Fans interested in joining the WGI team as part of the Fan Ambassador program must fill out an application and participate in an interview process. The application may be downloaded by going to www.TheGlen.com/FanAmbassadorApplication. The deadline to submit an application is January 13, 2012. Interviews will take place in the following weeks with final selections to be announced in March. Tickets for the 2012 season go on-sale on December 5. Fans can learn more about the upcoming race season by calling the WGI ticket office at 866.461.RACE (7223) or logging onto the official website. www.TheGlen.com. Gift certificates and track merchandise can all be purchased at The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in downtown Watkins Glen. The Shop is open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
