Opening Weekend at The Glen to Benefit JDRF
Take to our historic track with a purpose
Take to the twists and turns of The Glen for JDRF April 21-22 during Opening Weekend.
“JDRF is proud and excited to continue our partnership with The Glen to find a cure for diabetes and its related complications,” said Mary Anne Fox, Executive Director of the Rochester JDRF Chapter. “We know Opening Weekend will be amazing and encourage everyone to drive us toward a cure!”
Opening Weekend at The Glen is a highlight for many as it provides fans the unique opportunity to drive their personal vehicles on the track for three paced laps. Those in attendance may take their picture in Gatorade Victory Lane and purchase professional photographs of their vehicle taking to the twists and turns of the historic road course. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. for Opening Weekend at The Glen with laps, at $25 per car, beginning at 10 a.m. The last lap will take place at 4:30 p.m.

Opening Weekend continues to spark the interest of car clubs and enthusiasts as well as our race fans. Where else can you celebrate the start of a season by driving the same course some of the best of the best have raced, all for a good cause.”
In addition to welcoming fans of The Glen to take to the track, supporting JDRF along the way, Opening Weekend also marks the final opportunity for fans to take advantage of advance ticket sales.
The traditional start to the season at Watkins Glen International, Opening Weekend features a weekend full of activities for the third year in a row. On Friday, April 20, the Green Grand Prix returns to The Glen to kick start a weekend that marks the start of the 2012 season.
Tickets for the 2012 race season at Watkins Glen International are on sale now! Fans can purchase their tickets and camping by contacting the WGI ticket office at 866.461.RACE(7223) or logging on to the official website, www.TheGlen.com. Gift certificates, tickets and track merchandise can all be purchased at The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in downtown Watkins Glen. The Shop is open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is closed on Sunday.
