Watkins Glen International Welcomes Families for Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen
Family-friendly atmosphere makes event top in the region
WATKINS GLEN, NY – Watkins Glen International invites families to enjoy all the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car weekend (June 29-July 1) has to offer including world-class racing action, off-track festivities and unprecedented access throughout the facility – all at an affordable, if not FREE, price!
The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend is one of the best opportunities to bring the whole family to The Glen and truly see everything – the sports cars, three races and Gatorade Victory Lane – at your own pace in a family-friendly setting,” Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup said. “Kids and teens 18 and under are free and families can camp for free in Gate 1 this year, making it a not-to-miss event.”
With a weekend general admission ticket, families can enjoy the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series during the Continental Tire 150 on Saturday at 3 p.m., as well as a driver autograph session and fan walk along pit road one hour prior to the green flag. In addition, drivers from the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, including Patrick Dempsey, Scott Pruett, Memo Rojas and Ricky Taylor, will be signing autographs behind the Sir Jackie Stewart (formerly Turn 10) grandstand. The autograph session will take place near The Pyramid from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. After the Continental Tire 150, fans have access to the infield concert on the Red Cat Summer Stage with a local act and Z95 Z-Star Winner Kristen Jeanine.
Prior to Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen on Sunday (green flag at 11 a.m.), catch the TOTAL Performance Showcase race at 9:15 a.m. Fans can also watch pre-race ceremonies for every race from Gatorade Victory Lane and then return to celebrate with the race winners throughout the weekend.

Gift certificates, daily Thunder Road Tour passes, event tickets and track merchandise are available for purchase at The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in Watkins Glen.
