New Mobile App Helps Fans Navigate Their Season at The Glen

WATKINS GLEN, NY – It is now even easier for fans to follow The Glen with the launch of its mobile application. Available Tuesday and just in time for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen (June 29-July 1). The free app is easy to use with Sprint® smart phones or similar devices and is available in both Android and iTunes app stores.
“This is another great way to educate and update our fans during an event weekend and every day,” Michael Printup WGI track president said. “We know our fans will find the information they need about Watkins Glen International and the upcoming Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen event with from anywhere with ease on their mobile devices.”
With nearly 300 locations pinned by Watkins Glen International, fans will easily be able to navigate The Glen. The mobile app allows fans to search for the nearest restroom, the closest place to eat, nearby souvenir trailers, driver appearances, and more through its interactive GPS facility map. Fans will also be able to locate their campsite and seat section. The app also provides fans the ability to designate where they parked their car using the GPS facility map. Lastly, the app will help fans plan their weekend with daily track and driver appearance schedules.
The Watkins Glen International mobile app will also supply information for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen (August 9-12) and Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver (September 7-9) weekends. With the ability to place the most accurate and current information in the hands of its fans, The Glen will cater the application to each race event.

It is the first of two stops the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series will make at Watkins Glen International in 2012 and the second segment of the North American Endurance Championship presented by VISITFLORIDA.com. Tickets for the 2012 season at Watkins Glen International are on sale now! Fans may purchase their tickets and camping by contacting the WGI ticket office in person or by phone at 866.461.RACE (7223) or logging on to the official website, www.TheGlen.com. Gift certificates, daily Thunder Road Tour passes, event tickets and track merchandise are available for purchase at The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in Watkins Glen.
