Celebrity Chef Matt Levin Headlines Wine Festival Culinary Events
Maverick Chef to Present Culinary Demonstrations throughout the Weekend
WATKINS GLEN, NY – The Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese will be receiving a culinary makeover in 2012 as Celebrity Chef Matt Levin headlines the culinary events. Chef Levin, a Philadelphia native, has drawn national acclaim for his mouth-watering, albeit unconventional, menu.
Chef Levin will be the presenting chef at the RIEDEL Experience, the Wine Festival’s VIP tasting experience on Saturday July 14th. Tasters participating in the nearly sold out RIEDEL Experience will receive two-day access to the festival as well as live entertainment and hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Levin while experiencing an exclusive wine tasting experience with RIEDEL executives and Finger Lake Region Vintners. The RIEDEL Experience also provides tasters with a complimentary pace car ride, a bottle of reserve wine, and a five-piece Riedel Vinum XL Tasting set featuring the Finger Lakes exclusive Riesling glass. Tickets for the RIEDEL Experience are still available at www.FLWineFest.com or by calling 866.461.7223.
On Sunday July 15th, Chef Levin will present two separate free culinary classes, at 11:30am and 3:30pm, in the Watkins Glen International Media Center. Although the menu for his classes has not been publicly released, it promises to be a culinary experience like no other.
Currently the Executive Chef for Philadelphia’s Square Peg restaurant and bar, Chef Levin began his career at New York City’s Aureole, then moved back home to Philadelphia to work at acclaimed restaurants such as Striped Bass, Le Bec-Fin, and Lacroix at the Rittenhouse. It was at these acclaimed restaurants that Chef Levin grew his reputation for pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity.
