Yancey’s Fancy Launch of The Lakes Toga Party and Parade on Friday
Crowning of the King and Queen, live music and fireworks to kickoff the Finger Lakes Wine Festival
WATKINS GLEN, NY – Be a part of the 16th annual Finger Lakes Wine Festival from the beginning and don your best toga for the Yancey’s Fancy Cheese Launch of the Lakes on Friday, July 13. The traditional kick-off party will once again feature uniquely themed togas, excellent Finger Lakes wines, a wide variety of artisan cheese provided by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese and fireworks.
The Yancey’s Fancy Cheese Launch of the Lakes starts at 5 p.m. and is the best way to get into the sampling spirit with a range of wines and cheese with which to tease your pallet. Tickets are available for purchase in advance or at the gate. Yancey’s Fancy will offer samples of their world-famous cheese and wine will be on sale from a select group of participating wineries, not to mention concessions, live music from Blues Plate Special and, of course, fireworks.
Bacchus, the god of wine, will crown two tasters wearing the best togas as the King and Queen of the 2012 Finger Lakes Wine Festival. The 2012 King and Queen will receive a free set of RIEDEL crystal stemware, complimentary festival passes, admission to the Tasters’ Banquet as well as entrance to the Great Western Breakfast to the 2013 Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese.
The Launch of the Lakes will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show as local band Blues Plate Special accompanies the show with music.

Gift certificates, tickets and track merchandise are available for purchase at The Shop located at 2 North Franklin Street in Watkins Glen.
