Finger Lakes Wine Festival Offers Access to Renowned Wine Experts
Vintner’s Room Seminars Provide In-Depth Look at Finger Lakes Wine
WATKINS GLEN, NY – For the third year, The Vintner’s Room will again be a highlight of the activities at the 16th Annual Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, July 13-15 at Watkins Glen International. Tasters are encouraged to join renowned wine writers Ron Kapon and Holly Howell throughout the weekend for insight on wine both in the Finger Lakes and around the world. Seminars will be held throughout the weekend in the “Vintner’s Room” located at the end of the main festival building.
With over 60 years of experience in the field of wine and spirits, Kapon has become a well respected authority on the subject of wine. You can read his articles on ronkapon.com. Kapon has been published or presented for Older Not Dead, Sports Network, The Fifty Best, Real Travel Adventures, Everywhere Magazine, North American Travel Journalist Association, Local Wine Events, Tasters Guild Journal and Leisure Travel Report. Ron will be presenting his seminar “Confessions of a Non-Wine Snob” at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Holly Howell is the wine columnist for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. She studied wine with the Master Court of Sommeliers in London and enjoys teaching wine seminars at wineries, restaurants and many local festivals. She has her own business called “UNCORKED”, and is currently working on her first wine book. Holly also writes monthly articles for Mountain Home Magazine in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Holly will be presenting her seminar “Finger Lakes Wine 101!” at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and again at 1 p.m. Sunday.
