Sellers, Boden Claim Continental Tire 150 Victory at The Glen
Fall-Line Motorsports capture first win of CTSCCS season
Bryan Sellers and Mark Bowden captured the checkered flag in Saturday's Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International.
WATKINS GLEN, NY – Fall-Line Motorsports scored their first Watkins Glen International victory in a wet and wild Continental Tire 150 Saturday. Bryan Sellers took the checkered flag with a last-lap pass of Matt Plumb entering Turn 1, holding on for the win. Plumb, co-driver of the No. 13 Rum Bum Racing Porsche 997, in search of his third victory of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series made a comeback from a first-lap incident.
The multi-car incident on Lap 43, at 5:03 p.m., resulted in a full-course caution that lasted 33 minutes. Green flag racing returned with just two minutes and 10 seconds remaining, just enough time for the final lap.
Fall-Line Motorsports owner Mark Boden, co-driver of the No. 46 Trim-Tex/BCKSTGR BMW M3, and Sellers celebrated their .527 margin of victory over Nick Longhi and Plumb. No. 45 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3, with co-drivers Hugh Plumb and Al Carter, rounded out the podium at The Glen.
In ST Class, Stevan McAleer took advantage of Pierre Kleinubing and Ryan Eversley entered the Turn 8 gravel trap prior to the final caution of the Continental Tire 150. McAleer held on for the victory, edging Eversley by a mere .764 seconds. It is Marc Miller and McAleer’s second victory of the season for their No. 5 modSpace/Construct Corps Mazda MX-5 and CJ Wilson Racing.
