WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (July 20, 2015) – The Jaguar F-TYPE will serve as Watkins Glen International’s official pace car of the upcoming Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver.

Sportscar Vintage Racing Association’s annual visit to the historic road course located in the Finger Lakes Region of western New York is set for July 24-26, 2015 – a new date for 2015 due to the track’s upcoming resurfacing project.

In May, Jaguar announced a seven-race agreement, which includes WGI, with SVRA, in which consumers will have the opportunity to test the dynamic performance of the newest additions to the Jaguar lineup, including the 550-hp Jaguar F-TYPE R AWD. Activities will include an autocross track specifically designed by the Jaguar Performance driving team.

Jaguar has a storied history at Watkins Glen International, with legendary drivers such as Hurley Haywood, Chip Robinson, and Martin Brundle piloting the marque at various events around the historic circuit.

The Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver kicks off with practice and qualifying on Friday, July 24, with 11 race groups scheduled to compete beginning Saturday morning and running through Sunday afternoon.

“We’re thrilled to have Jaguar leading this year’s U.S. Vintage Grand Prix fields to the green flag,” said Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup. “This is a great weekend to celebrate Watkins Glen’s racing heritage, and it’s exciting to have such a great manufacturer on board to help us do just that.”
