WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 17, 2015) – Watkins Glen International has announced 2016 dates for two of the track’s premier annual events.

Next year’s version of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, headlined by the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Continental Tire 150, will shift to the June 30-July 3 weekend for one summer, to accommodate teams returning from the 24 Hours of Le Mans event in France.

Meanwhile, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, set to celebrate its 20th anniversary at Watkins Glen International, will be held July 15-17.

“These two event weekends are special to Watkins Glen International as they showcase our facility in two different settings, one being the largest wine tasting event in the region, and the other a world-class race weekend, with a new date for just next year” said WGI President Michael Printup. “We’re very excited to have both of these fan favorites on our schedule once again.”

WGI will release further details regarding these two exciting event weekends, including ticket sales and packages, camping opportunities, entertainment, and more, along with additional event date announcements, as they become available.

Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in North America, voted “Best NASCAR Track” by readers of USA Today.
