WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- The broom made an appearance in Gatorade Victory Lane today as Joey Logano won the Cheez-It 355, becoming the first driver to sweep the NASCAR Sprint Cup/NASCAR XFINITY Series weekend at Watkins Glen. In addition to the first sweep at the track, both Logano and team owner Roger Penske won their first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at The Glen.

“It’s the coolest weekend of my life,” said Logano. “It’s cool to have a win here.”

Charging hard for the last several laps, Joey Logano passed Kevin Harvick in the last turn of the last lap for the win. Harvick, who led a race high 29 laps, ran out of fuel to allow the hard-charging Logano to pass him.

For Kyle Busch, who finished second, he would have liked to have had the win, but with his finish in today’s Cheez-It 355 he moved to 30th in the point standings, and is eligible for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

“It was a fun and challenging race,” said Busch, who has nine top-10 finishes in 11 starts at The Glen. “I thought I was fast enough to catch the 22 but it just wasn’t meant to be.”

Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch rounded out the Top Five. Harvick leads the point standings by 42 points over Logano
