WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 8, 2015) – For the first time in his career, Joey Logano visited Gatorade Victory Lane at Watkins Glen International in today’s Zippo 200. Logano, who started on the pole and led 39 laps, overcame a pit road penalty on lap 20 and held off teammate Brad Keselowski to earn the win, which was his fourth victory of 2015 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.

“It’s pretty special,” said Logano. “As a driver you always want to have a road course win on your resume. I know for Todd (Gordon, crew chief) it feels really good too because we’ve been close here the last few weeks in both the Cup Series and XFINITY Series, so it feels nice to be able to spray some champagne and have some fun in victory lane.”

“I don’t know if I had anything for Joey,” said Keselowksi, who starts 11th in tomorrow’s Cheez-It 355. “…It was all I could do to really keep up with him there at the end. He did a great job as well and I think all-in-all it was just a really good race.”

The Penske duo has 12 Top-10 finishes at Watkins Glen.

NASCAR XFINITY Series point leader Chris Buescher finished third in his second series start at The Glen. He leads the series point standings by 24 over Chase Elliott.

Earlier in the day, AJ Allmendinger made his push towards joining the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup by capturing the pole for Sunday’s Cheez-It 355 at The Glen. Allmendinger, who has now swept the pole for both road course events this season, won last year’s Cheez-It 355 to clinch a spot in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Martin Truex Jr. will start second in Sunday’s race as he posted his 11th Top 10 start of the season, while Tony Stewart will start third, his 13th Top 10 start at Watkins Glen. Jeff Gordon, who is in his final full-time season, will start fifth.
