WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 24, 2016) – In addition to the acres of New York State Wines, cuisine, and vendors present at the storied Watkins Glen International during next month’s Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, guest comfort and live entertainment will take center stage like never before.

The largest wine tasting event in the region has added climate-controlled tents to its offerings, all-new for the Festival’s 20th anniversary. Live music, pace car rides, demonstrations, and seminars will also be featured throughout the weekend, with festivities kicking off during the Yancey’s Fancy Launch of the Lakes, set for Friday, July 15th. Admission to Friday night’s event is separate from the Finger Lakes Wine Festival.

“We are very excited to offer climate-controlled tasting tents during this year’s Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese,” said Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup. “We think it’s going to be a welcome addition that will provide our guests with tremendous relief during the weekend.”

The Stage in the Sparkling Courtyard, adjacent to Tent C, will play host to several performances and demonstrations, including: Ice Carving from The Ice Farm, Aerial Acrobatics from Down To Earth Aerials LLC, and the popular Wassa Pan Afrika Dance Ensemble. Attendees looking for a more educational experience will find wine seminars (both paid and free versions), and cooking demonstrations taking place in the Media Center with limited, first-come, first-serve availability.

A trademark of the annual event is the roster of live music performances, and it is once again chock full of talent, including: The Halley Devestern Band, The Blind Spots, William Groome, Keith Shuskie, Virgil Cain, Rebecca and the Soul Shakers, DJ A.J. Smith, Small Town Shade, Chillakaya, Scott Adams, and The Funky Blue Roots. Times and locations can be found at www.flwinefest.com.
