To start the 2012 season, Watkins Glen International hosted the Toyota Green Grand Prix presented by Corning, Inc. for the second-consecutive season. There was a variety of alternatively fueled vehicles competing for the best gas mileage. The 1957 Heinkel 200 Microcar averaged a Grand Prix best of 130 miles per gallon in the Doris Bovee Memorial SCCA Road Rallies.

Fans of The Glen had the unique opportunity to experience Watkins Glen first hand as they drove the 3.4-mile course to celebrate the opening of a new season. While at WGI, fans had the chance to take pictures in Gatorade Victory Lane and purchase pictures of their cars on the historic course.
