Watkins Glen International and Steuben Partnership Now Includes Racing and Tasting


– Watkins Glen International and long-time partner, the venerable American crystal company, Steuben have signed a new agreement that not only renews their partnership, but expands it to include involvement in the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese, July 15-17, 2011. This marks the first time that the famed glass and crystal maker has moved beyond making the trophies for the marquee racing events at Watkins Glen International and into being featured during the Finger Lakes Wine Festival.

    SunTrust Snaps Ganassi Streak in 30th Running of Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen

    Ricky Taylor held off Scott Pruett by 3.839 seconds Saturday to win the 30th Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, ending one winning streak while continuing another. Taylor was joined by Max Angelelli in the No. 10 SunTrust Chevrolet/Dallara, winning his second consecutive Rolex Series race from the pole.

With a field of fiercely competitive drivers all working toward the same objective, fans in the stands can only harbor a guess as to who is going to end the day in Gatorade Victory Lane. However, those in the stands at last season’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen should have guessed history was going to repeat itself and place a familiar face in victory lane – Scott Pruett. He showed no signs of slowing down from the dominate pace he and his Chip Ganassi Racing team have set as he took an unprecedented third-consecutive, fourth overall, victory in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

    Roush Jr. and Johnson Claim Victory in Continental 150 at The Glen

    Billy Johnson led 30 laps, including the final 19, to join Jack Roush Jr. in winning the Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International, Round 6 of the 2011 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. The drivers of the No. 61 Ford Mustang Boss 302R continued their climb up the Grand Sport standings. They now have five consecutive podium finishes – including a pair of victories – after failing to finish the opening race of the season at Daytona International Raceway.
