The Rum Bum Racing Porsche 997 driven by Matt Plumb and Nick Longhi triumphed in a hard fought race over the CKS Autosport Camaro GS.R of Eric Curren and Lawson Aschenbach in the GS class of the Continental Tire 150 at The Glen. Aschenbach made repeated moves over the final three laps in an effort to challenge Plumb, who had taken the lead on Lap 43 with 45 minutes left in the race. The race saw seven caution periods as racers sliced and diced fiercely through twists and turns of Watkins Glen International.

Some of the finest race car drivers in the world are, right now, filing into Watkins Glen International for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend. Activities begin on Friday, June 29 as The Glen opens its gates to the public free of charge from noon to 5 p.m. to preview the weekend’s activities. Fans who attend on Friday can watch practice and qualifying sessions for the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and Rolex Sports Car Series at the historic road course.

The Glen and CMoG Develop One-of-a-Kind Trophy for 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race
Watkins Glen International and The Corning Museum of Glass announced a strategic partnership Thursday morning and unveiled the trophy for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen race. The unique trophy designed and created by Corning Museum of Glass artist Eric Meek encompasses key aspects of the Finger Lakes Region, including The Glen’s iconic blue guardrail, the Finger Lakes and, of course, glass.
