Joe Foster Wins Third Pole Of Season In Qualifying For Continental Tire 150

Joe Foster won his third GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge pole of the season in qualifying Friday at Watkins Glen International. Foster led Grand Sport qualifying with a lap of 2:02.256 (100.118 mph) in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302R co-driven by Scott Maxwell.

The 2012 Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen entry list announced by GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series includes 2011 two-time winners at The Glen, Max Angelelli and Ricky Taylor as well as last week’s victors Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the DP Class. Paul Tracy returns to The Glen in the No. 77 Doran Racing Ford Dallara, co-driving with Jim Lowe. Highlights among the GT Class include Boris Said in the No. 31 Marsh Racing Corvette and Patrick Dempsey co-driving the No. 40 Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8 with Joe Foster. Green flag drops at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 1.

Ladies, Start Your Excitement Because Patrick Dempsey is Entered in Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen

Patrick Dempsey is set to return to Watkins Glen International for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen on Saturday, June 4. Dempsey, who is best known for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd (a.k.a. McDreamy) on the hit TV drama Grey’s Anatomy, competes in the GT class of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series. Fans will have a chance to meet Dempsey as well as all the stars of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge in two separate autograph sessions during the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen event weekend, June 3-5.

Roush Jr. and Johnson Claim Victory in Continental 150 at The Glen

Billy Johnson led 30 laps, including the final 19, to join Jack Roush Jr. in winning the Continental Tire 150 at Watkins Glen International, Round 6 of the 2011 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. The drivers of the No. 61 Ford Mustang Boss 302R continued their climb up the Grand Sport standings. They now have five consecutive podium finishes – including a pair of victories – after failing to finish the opening race of the season at Daytona International Raceway.
