Watkins Glen International Set to Repave in 2015

Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup announced Wednesday that the historic track will conduct a repaving project in the summer of 2015. It is the first time the track will be repaved since 1998.

    Watkins Glen International Awarded State Funding for Modernization and Repaving

    Watkins Glen International is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $2.25 million by the State of New York and Governor Andrew Cuomo to assist in modernization efforts and repaving of the historic facility. Watkins Glen International receives the award after being named a Priority Project by the Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council (STREDC) in 2014. The grant comes on the heels of $33.5 million in private capital investments at Watkins Glen International over the past 10 years, with an additional $12 million committed for 2015. The investments cement The Glen’s position as the premier road racing facility in North America.

    Renewals Continue for 2015 WGI Season

    Watkins Glen International renewal season continues for guests of Glenora Wine Cellars U.S. Vintage Grand Prix presented by Welliver (July 24-26) and Finger Lakes Beer Festival presented by Finger Lakes Beer Trail (October 24). WGI account holders for either event will receive renewal forms at the beginning of December. This exclusive group of fans has the opportunity to save by renewing before tickets go on sale in January.

    Watkins Glen International and Kellogg Company announced Cheez-It® renews its place as the title sponsor of The Glen’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. WGI’s marquee event, Cheez-It™ 355 at The Glen returns August 6-9.

    Watkins Glen International is pleased to announce Bully Hill Vineyards has renewed as the entitlement sponsor for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race – Bully Hill Vineyards 125. The race set for Friday, August 7, part of Cheez-It™ 355 at The Glen weekend, returns after positive fan reviews in 2014.
