Watkins Glen International Set to Repave in 2015

Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup announced Wednesday that the historic track will conduct a repaving project in the summer of 2015. It is the first time the track will be repaved since 1998.

    - Formula 5000, once one of the premiere racing series' in the world, will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year at the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, September 5-7. This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the first race held on the streets of Watkins Glen, known as "the day they stopped the trains," on October 2, 1948.

    There is constant change at Watkins Glen International but one thing continues to stay the same, the weekend NASCAR returns to the historic road course. National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) Officials announced the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series schedules today confirming that Kyle Busch will defend his Centurion Boats at The Glen victory on the historic road course's traditional weekend.

    Brian Redman Named Grand Marshal & Honored Guest

    Brian Redman, one of the most accomplished drivers to compete at Watkins Glen International, will be the honored guest for this year's U.S. Vintage Grand Prix, September 5-7. The weekend will have special events to honor Redman and this year's featured marques, F-5000 and the Triumph. In addition, we will celebrate with Lola on their 50th Anniversary. Redman will also hop back into his legendary #1 Lola T332-Chevy and compete in the F-5000 feature race on Sunday, September 7.
