Watkins Glen International Set to Repave in 2015

Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup announced Wednesday that the historic track will conduct a repaving project in the summer of 2015. It is the first time the track will be repaved since 1998.

    One of Five Live on ABC

    Officials at Watkins Glen International announced today that the Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen, July 5, 2009 will be broadcast live on ABC. The race is also scheduled to start at 1:00 PM, approximately 2.5 hours sooner than the 2007 and 2008 races. The start time has been moved in support of the feedback that the track received directly from race fans.

    Phil Walters Honored as Final Driver of the Decade

    Craig Rust, president of Watkins Glen International, announced on Saturday, September 7 that Phil Walters has been named "Driver of the Decade" for the 1948-1957 time period. Walters is the sixth and final driver honored with the title "Driver of the Decade" and joins Graham Hill, Sir Jackie Stewart, Al Holbert, Mark Martin and Tony Stewart as a member of the inaugural induction class of "Legends of The Glen."

    3rd Annual Road to the Rescue Returns to The Glen on September 11

    As the seven year anniversary of September 11th approaches next week; Watkins Glen International, the Sullivan Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross and the National Marrow Donor Program Greater New York State Donor Center, have renewed their partnership to support the spirit of charitable giving surrounding the anniversary of this national tragedy. The 2008 'Road to the Rescue' will take place on Thursday, September 11 at Watkins Glen International and was organized in conjunction with the NASCAR Foundation's third annual campaign at NASCAR tracks across the country.

    Legendary F-5000 Driver Set to Meet & Greet Fans this Weekend

    Brian Redman, the featured guest during the U.S. Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International September 5-7th, is scheduled to make several appearances throughout the weekend, including autograph sessions and fan forums. The weekend will serve as a tribute to him and his racing career.
