Watkins Glen International Set to Repave in 2015


Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup announced Wednesday that the historic track will conduct a repaving project in the summer of 2015. It is the first time the track will be repaved since 1998.

    Be a Part of The Glen – Volunteer!

    Watkins Glen International provides the ideal opportunity for groups and organizations to fundraise in 2012. With a unique venue, a variety of events and the desire to help our neighbors, The Glen is in search for groups interested in volunteering during three events held at our historic road course this season. Volunteer groups are needed for Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen (June 29-July 1), Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy (July 14-15) and NASCAR Weekend at The Glen (August 9-12).

    Lake to Lake Ramble Returns to Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen

    The Lake to Lake Sports Car Ramble, set for Friday, June 29, is held in conjunction with Watkins Glen International’s Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen (June 29-July 1) weekend. Watkins Glen Promotions organizes the event, the same organization that produces the Grand Prix Festival held in downtown Watkins Glen each September.

    Watkins Glen International’s Season is Underway

    Unfavorable weather found its way to Watkins Glen International during Opening Weekend benefiting JDRF. It did not stop hundreds of fans from capitalizing on their opportunity to take three paced laps behind an official WGI vehicle. Hundreds of cars full of fans including those from New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Ontario came to The Glen, helping to support JDRF.

    The Show Will Go On at The Glen – Rain Or Shine

    Watkins Glen International (WGI) will kick off the 2012 season rain or shine this weekend, April 21-22. The two-day event will provide fans with the opportunity to support JDRF, the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, by taking their personal vehicles along the twists and turns of the legendary road course.

    Marlee Scott to Perform National Anthems for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race at The Glen

    Marlee Scott will perform the American and Canadian National Anthems live on ESPN prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at The Glen race on Sunday, August 12. Scott, a Big Ride Entertainment artist and Toronto, ON native currently residing in Nashville, will also perform at Friday Night’s FREE Red Cat Summer Stage Concert on the infield of Watkins Glen International.
