FAQs Security FAQs
The following security policies apply only during the Centurion Boats at The
Glen and Camping World Grand Prix at The Glen weekends. Guests are subject to search
during all events.
- What is the difference between an admission gate and a grandstand
gate?
Admission gates are all of the main gates you pass through when you
enter the facility. Grandstand gates are all of the smaller gates you pass
through if you have a grandstand seat.
- Can I leave my cooler outside the grandstand gates?
Unfortunately, items not allowed in the grandstands will not be allowed
to accumulate along the grandstand fence lines.
- I'm camping in the infield. Does this mean I can't bring my large
cooler to my campsite?
The new policies are only for the grandstand gates, not admission gates.
You can take your cooler, any size, to your campsite, but won't be able to
bring it into the grandstand unless it conforms to current specifications
(6'x6'x12').
- Where can I get a 6x6x12' cooler?
Most stores that carry outdoor supplies will carry small coolers that
are the appropriate size. You can stop by The Shop on Franklin St. in
Watkins Glen or call 607-535-2388 to order one. During the weekend, The
Pyramid Souvenir Center will have plenty available.
- Will I be able to fit what I need in these smaller coolers?
A 6'x6'x12' cooler holds approximately 11 cans of soda with ice or any
number of lunch item and beverage combinations.
- What about my camera, scanner and binoculars? Can I bring them into
the grandstands in the bags they are stored in?
These items should either be carried around your neck or in a clear
plastic bag. Again, please remember that all items are subject to search
when you enter the grandstand areas. Your admission will be speedier with
fewer bags to be searched.
- Have the rules about beer or food in the grandstands changed?
The policies regarding food and beverage in the grandstands have not
changed. You may still bring beverages and food with you, but understand
that all bags are subject to search when you enter the grandstand areas.
General FAQs
- What are the Ticket Office hours?
8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday. On event weekends, we are generally
open by 7am and stay open as long as needed.
- How can I purchase tickets?
- Call the WGI Ticket Office at 866-461-RACE or you can
purchase tickets
online.
- Stop by the WGI Ticket Office on Old Bronson Hill Road just off of County
Route 16 or The Shop at 2 North Franklins Street in downtown Watkins Glen.
- We also sell tickets at the gates during event weekends.
- What time do the gates open during events?
2008 Gate Hours of Operation
- When will tickets be available for purchase by the general public?
Tickets for the entire 2008 schedule are on sale now!
- Does the track charge for parking?
Free daytime parking is available for all of our guests. On non-NASCAR
and non-IndyCar weekends, all daytime parking is located on the infield. For
the Centurion Boats at The Glen and Camping World Grand Prix
weekends, free parking is available along Kuhl-Winner Way and also between
Gate 2 and 3 along County Route 16 and Overnight Parking is available for a
fee on County Rt. 16, past the ticket and registration office.
- What happens if the event rains out?
If an event is postponed and/or rescheduled for any reason, the
determination of the new date and time for the event would be made by the
sanctioning body (i.e., NASCAR, IRL, Grand Am, SCCA, SVRA, HSR). The
sanctioning body makes every effort to conduct an event on the day it is
scheduled and if a postponement is necessary, they will announce the new
date and time. Tickets for the event will be honored on the date the race is
held. All ticket sales are final; we regret no refunds will be allowed
unless you previously purchased
ticket insurance.
- Do you have handicap seating?
Golf carts are available throughout the facility to transport guests
with disabilities. Wheelchair accessible reserved seats are available in the
FrontStretch Grandstand located on the start/finish line, and in the Pit
Terrace Grandstand. There are also accessible areas reserved for general
admission ticket holders, as well as accessible parking and restrooms.
- Where should I park if I need a HC spot?
Lot 4 would probably be preferred because it has paved sites. If this
lot is full, all of the general day parking lots have HC parking in the
first 2 rows. All that is required is a state-issued HC placard or license
plate.
